Meet ‘Lord Mayor,’ The Smallest Star of the Rails
Among the treasures housed here is Hudswell Clarke 0-4-0ST No. 402, affectionately known as Lord Mayor. Built in 1893, this charming engine is the smallest locomotive based at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, pictured here in steam at Ingrow Yard in the 1980’s. Fans of classic cinema will recognize Lord Mayor as the star of the publicity for the beloved 1970 film The Railway Children, which was famously filmed on our very tracks.
